Gibraltar Park Vineyard is an exciting new family owned vineyard on its way to becoming a well recognised Queensland winery and tourism destination.  At present it boasts approximately 10 000 vines, in close proximity to major centres.

Gibraltar Park is home to our wine label ‘Between Two Rocks’.  Our vineyard is planted in trap rock country which has proven to produce a great grape.  When starting on our project people would often ask about the rocky soil and our answer was ‘a grape will grow anywhere, even between two rocks’ which is literally what we have done.

Gibraltar Park Vineyard has taken many years of planning, design and work, it is nestled on the edge of  pretty Leyburn Village, and is within one hour drive of 200 000 people and only 2 ½ hours from Brisbane.  The property was hand picked for development; all aspects of the property encompass great views.   The vineyard: steel end assemblies, grape trellis pegs, and drip irrigation.  Ten popular varieties of wine grapes, 2005; eight acres or 5 385 vines, 2006; a further seven acres, 4 500 vines.

Developmental Approval has been granted for a production plant and winery incorporating café, cellar door and country lodge and several  eco cabins.

The property is run as a mixed farm business.  (Cattle tick free area).  There are a number of fenced area: the vines account for 50 acres, with stock tight fencing;  7 acres of fenced cultivation along the creek flats; approx 83 acres of natural bush land and the remaining 200 acres is fenced into grazing paddocks with yards; a cleared 7 acre site is designated to proposed solar farm.  The planned solar farm would make this enterprise energy self sufficient.

The variety of grapes includes: Chardonnay, Verdelho, Voignier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Tempranillo.
